Harmonizing is singing above or below the melody line and harmonization is the combination of two ore more notes. Whether you sing 3 notes above the melody or other intervals (less commonly used are the forth and fifth intervals), always be sure make the same steps continuously.

I don't actually play the piano with broken chords, I normally play with the first, third and fifth notes of chords (in different inversions that make it less difficult to move around the piano). However I've never really tried to sing harmony. Sometimes, I think I'm singing harmony when I can't reach the melody as its too low or too high singing in the octave above.
As it turned out, time ran out before I could actually record a harmony for my song. However through out the process of coming to an understanding of how harmonizing works I was able to have my mom accompany me in her attempt at trying to help me understand how the melody and harmony fits together. |
