Hello,
My name is Monica.
I'm fifteen years old and a student in Grade 10 at the Vientiane International School. On January 25th, 2015 it will have been 10 years since our family came to live in Laos.
Our current unit in Music class involves the composition and recording of a song. And though it may seem simple as I'm writing it now, I can assure you that the process to composing and recording a song is far from simple. However, I am willing to take on the challenge and will try my best!
Some more things about me before I continue the journey:
So... I guess you've found out I'm somewhat talkative, especially when I'm pouring my soul out on paper (ehemmmmm... the internet, sorry). There'll be a lot more of that I'm afraid...
Let's get started anyways!
My name is Monica.

Some more things about me before I continue the journey:
- I love Jesus! And all that He's done for me in my life. One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11. '"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' Isn't it just so encouraging that Someone cares about me and loves me so much that He knows my future?
- I love my family! With a younger brother and sister, an older American (adopted, of sorts) sister and wonderful parents, there's never a dull moment in the house.
- I have the bestest friend ever, who lives on the other side of the world (sad face). She understands me when I don't understand myself, is my baking-buddy (along with my younger sister, us three love to bake up a storm), encourages me in my faith! She also has the coolest younger brothers ever, who happens to be my brother's best friends!
- I love baking! Brownies and peppermint chocolate chip cookies are my favorite (to make and EAT!) - especially when they're just out of the oven.
- I love reading... mostly historical fiction but I'm trying to broaden my range. One of my favorite authors is Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love and the Mark of Lion series are a must read!
- I sleep early and (sometimes) wake up early. I am definitely not a night owl. Even with two younger siblings I'm the first one upstairs, although not this evening as I'm finishing this 'introduction'!
- I'm scared of snakes. Terribly scared. One time we were sitting outside and a snake dropped from the tree. Guess what I did? I jumped up on the chair, screaming and shouting!
- I'm learning to love photography. All the ins and outs of the technical stuff is overwhelming, but otherwise I'm quite content with just clicking away, hoping to capture the perfect moment.
- I love music! Which is what this blog happens to be about. I love listening to music and worshiping with music. I'm a musician in progress - I play piano for the Youth Worship Team, and am enjoying it a lot!
- One more thing, I have an unexplained fascination for Africa. Ever since I was young I've always wanted to visit the continent of Africa. Perhaps it's because I've lived in Asia my whole life, nonetheless part of my bucket list includes traveling the continent of Africa.
So... I guess you've found out I'm somewhat talkative, especially when I'm pouring my soul out on paper (ehemmmmm... the internet, sorry). There'll be a lot more of that I'm afraid...
Let's get started anyways!
